DONATE A GIFT BASKET
‘The happiness and surprise was difficult to describe in words. This particular elderly lady lives on her own and her granddaughter requested we deliver her a gift basket as she was unable to travel up to see her. It gave us great pleasure and happiness to drop a small token of gesture to her on Christmas Day, a day where many hold many special memories in their hearts.’
Saeed Nazir, AMYA Regional Youth Leader Hertfordshire
It can be anyone who you know (e.g. a neighbour, a grandparent, a relative, a friend) that is celebrating Christmas alone or is going through a tough period. There are many individuals out there that will unfortunately not be able to celebrate Christmas as they would normally do and so we would love to give them a small moment of joy!
Once you place a request, the AMYA welfare team will assess your request to make sure we can fulfil it. If so, we will send you a confirmation email confirming that we will be dropping off the FREE gift basket! Not to worry, we will keep it a surprise for the individual receiving the gift basket!
AMYA has over 140 local branches across the UK. As part of the request form, you can select the most local branch we have to your town/city. Our team will be able to cover any request within the location of our branches and approximately 20 miles radius around it!
No! You can generously donate towards a gift basket or just place in a request for one! All further proceeds will go to our National Charity partners Marie Curie and Humanity First
Inside the gift basket is a selection of items such as chocolates, festive eateries, scented candles, winter scarf, toys, stationary and a card! The content of the gift basket will be amended based on whether it is for a child or adult!
Our team of volunteers across the UK will aim to deliver on the 24th of December! We will simply hand over the gift basket at the doorstep to the individual
The further proceeds from this initiative will be going towards our two national charity partners - Marie Curie and Humanity First
Marie Curie continue to provide expert hospice care, support over the phone, and push for better end of life support for all.
Humanity First are an international NGO supporting the needs of those who most in need. Proceedings from this campaign will be specifically in aid of their Gaza Emergency Appeal, supporting the global '#VoicesforPeace' campaign.
AMYA looks to hold initiatives throughout the year spreading cheer and happiness by gifting those amongst society who can do with those small moments of joy. Whether it's dropping off fruit baskets to care homes, donating toys to a children's hospital ward, or of course dropping off gifts in the spirit of the festive season are all such initiatives AMYA look to do. Though as Muslims we do not celebrate Christmas, nonetheless for many this time of the year is associated with happy occasions of their life and we recognise that as part of our effort in wanting to drop a small gift off to those who may be celebrating it alone or going through a tough period.
